How do we make
certain diamond standard brand parts fit the
vehicle?

Our precision test fit process begins
by measuring the OEM part on the vehicle dimensionally
and visually. The OEM part is scanned and math data is
checked in CAD during our reverse engineering process.
In our tooling and pre production sampling we test fit
and measure the DSB Alternative replacement part on
the vehicle and against a check fixture which becomes
the master. We build a final inspection fixture around
the test fitted part that is approved by an
independent lab. The part inspection fixture is used
to measure production parts during production runs.
How do we match
the base materials used in OEM parts?

The OEM part is sent to an independent
test lab and the material is tested for chemical and
mechanical properties. From the test results a
suitable material is identified and chosen for the DSB
Alternative replacement part that matches these
properties.
What is the
production and inspection process for diamond standard
brand alternative parts?

All parts are manufactured by a TS/ISO
manufacturer. Our inspection discipline of production
begins with making a first piece before each run and
lot checking it against the master check fixture for
compatibility and fit. Thereafter we check a part on
the final inspection fixture each half hour and the
last piece from each of lot.
How do we insure
diamond standard brand parts are the latest OEM change
level?

We subscribe to and review Mitchell
manuals which updates us on changes each month.
Depending on the nature of the change, for example we
are notified of a part number change, we will purchase
the new part and determine whether tooling either
undergoes modification or new tooling, dies, check
fixtures initiated.
How do we handle a
customer concern or complaint?

All complaints are investigated
starting by contacting the distributor, and if
possible the bodyshop to collect the facts. From this
information we do an in depth investigation of root
cause and corrective action. Depending on the nature
of the part complaint we quarantine that inventory lot
and do a thorough inspection and investigation.
What is the
difference between diamond standard brand alternative
parts and aftermarket competitive parts?

Diamond Standard Brand Alternative
parts are tested at MGA research corporation vs. both
OEM and aftermarket competitors. The other aftermarket
parts we have tested are not comparable to either DS
Alternative parts or OEM in terms of material, safety
or performance.
What method of
tracking is used in production and distribution of
diamond standard brand parts?

Each part has a stamp and label to
track them to a specific “lot” number. This lot number
provides the traceability to the date of manufacture,
coating/plating date as appropriate, and the material
used to make it.
What testing do
you complete to make certain diamond standard brand
parts perform like OEM?

Our quality blueprint for equivalency
begins with material property testing followed by
thickness validation and finally creating parts in the
same shape and form as OEM. Our parts are subjected to
vehicle test fits and against master check fixture
inspections. E-coating and plating thickness are also
equivalent to OEM specifications.
What are the
benefits to an insurance company for specifying
diamond standard parts into a repair?

Significant cost savings vs. OEM parts
are achieved without sacrificing vehicle safety or
damageability. DSB Alternative parts are guaranteed to
meet OEM in the areas of fit, form, function and
SAFETY.
